What Thames Water needs

No death certificate is requested. Have the deceased's name and address, the account number if you have it, the date of death, the executor's contact details and a meter reading if possible.

Before you change any payments

Don't cancel the direct debit before you notify them. Suppliers normally take a final reading and settle the account themselves, and cancelling early can leave the energy or water supply unbilled and in arrears.

Don't want to do this alone?

Notifying companies one by one takes weeks. Alenity can notify Thames Water and all the others for you, drafting the messages, sending them, and handling the replies.
