Terms of Service, Alenity

These terms are an agreement between you and Ore Foundry Limited ("Alenity", "we", "us"), trading as Alenity at alenity.co.uk. Registered address: 181a Worple Road, London SW20 8RF. By using Alenity you agree to these terms.

1. What Alenity does

Alenity is a software service that helps people in the UK manage the admin that follows a bereavement. We provide general information, checklists, document organisation, and where you ask us to draft and send messages to third-party organisations on your behalf.

We are not a law firm, financial adviser, tax adviser, or regulated funeral provider. Information on Alenity is general and is not a substitute for professional advice. For decisions about probate, tax, or estate administration please consult a qualified professional.

2. Your account

You must be 18 or over.
Keep your password and email access secure. You're responsible for activity on your account.
Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Acting on your behalf

When you ask Alenity to contact a third-party organisation (for example, a bank, utility, or council), you authorise us to do so using the information you've provided. You're responsible for the accuracy of that information. We'll show you what was sent and any replies we receive.

4. Payments

Paid features are described on our Pricing page.
Payments are processed by Stripe.
Prices include UK VAT where applicable.
Alenity Companion (£29): refunded in full on request within 30 days of purchase. No reason needed.
Done for you (£199): refunded in full on request at any point until we send the first notification on your behalf. Once the first notification has been sent, the fee is not refundable, except where the law requires otherwise (see consumer rights below).
To request a refund, email hello@alenity.co.uk or use our refunds page. Refunds go back to the card you paid with.
You can cancel a subscription at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period.

5. Consumer rights

If you're a consumer in the UK you have statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Nothing in these terms removes those rights, and the refund promises in section 4 are in addition to them.

For Done for you, by asking us to start preparing and sending notifications within 14 days of purchase you expressly request that we begin the service before the 14-day cancellation period ends. You keep the right to cancel until the first notification is sent. If you cancel after that, the service has been performed in part at your request and the fee is not refundable, except where the law requires otherwise.

6. Acceptable use

Don't:

use Alenity to impersonate someone you have no authority to act for;
upload illegal content or content you don't have the right to share;
attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the service;
use Alenity to harass any third party.

7. Content & ownership

You keep ownership of everything you upload. You grant us a limited licence to host, process, and transmit it so we can run the service for you (including via the sub-processors listed in our Privacy Policy). We own Alenity itself, software, design, brand, and content we publish.

8. Availability & changes

We try hard to keep Alenity up and accurate, but we don't promise it will always be available, error-free, or suitable for every situation. We may change or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or anything else that can't be limited by law. Subject to that:

We're not liable for indirect, special, or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, revenue, or anticipated savings.
Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is capped at the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in that period and (b) £100.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using Alenity at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end accounts that breach these terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers may bring proceedings in their country of residence.
