What Octopus Energy needs
No death certificate is requested. Give the name, address and date of death, final meter readings when you have them, and who is handling the estate. Octopus also offer the free Settld service.

Before you change any payments
Don't cancel the direct debit before you notify them. Suppliers normally take a final reading and settle the account themselves, and cancelling early can leave the energy or water supply unbilled and in arrears.
Don't want to do this alone?
Notifying companies one by one takes weeks. Alenity can notify Octopus Energy and all the others for you, drafting the messages, sending them, and handling the replies.
