What Lloyds Bank needs

You do not need the death certificate to notify. Interim death certificates and coroner's certificates are accepted.

Good to know

DNS member; notify before having cert

About the Death Notification Service

Lloyds Bank is a member of the Death Notification Service (DNS), so you can notify them in the same submission as other member banks and building societies, rather than contacting each one separately.

Before you change any payments

Don't cancel direct debits before you notify them. The bank will freeze and review payments as part of the bereavement process, and cancelling early can leave insurance or utilities unpaid.

Don't want to do this alone?

Notifying companies one by one takes weeks. Alenity can notify Lloyds Bank and all the others for you, drafting the messages, sending them, and handling the replies.
